The 2018 Battle for Midwest BMX Contest Series is officially in the books.  Once again, thank you to everyone who helped out judging, riding, spectating, driving, running to the coffee shop or simply cheering on the riders!

The Battle Series is all about having some fun while getting to ride some of the Midwest’s best indoor skateparks.  The series is set up to help support indoor parks, and to give folks something to look forward to though-out the sometimes long and nasty winters.  This marks the 5th year in a row for the series and we have remained cool, calm, and most of all we have all had a bunch of fun.  I genuinely appreciate all the newfound friendships and all of the stories and experiences I personally have taken part in over the past 60 months and I thank all of you for sharing them with me.

This is the 3rd year where the Finals took place directly in the middle of nowhere Ohio. (Butler,OH) at the magnificent hidden gem known as Ohio Dreams Action Sports Camp.   We once again had over 30 BMX riders from over 5 states showing up to shred the typically closed to the public indoor playground designed by one Nate Wessel at Ohio Dreams!

I will be working on next seasons schedule, along with possibly some bigger sponsors for next year with possibly some BIGGER prizes!

The 2017 Midwest BMX Season doesn’t stop after the Battle Series takes a summer break.  We move on to support a fellow rider who took an incredible crash six months ago and remains in recovery.  We will gather in South Bend, Indiana for help raise some $$’s for Scotty to help defray some of those outlandish hospital bills.   Come on out and support Scotty Cranmer and all the riders at the 6th Annual Kitchen PRO/AM.  #STANDWITHSCOTTY  –  FACEBOOK EVENT HERE

This years Battle Series Contest is coming to a head once again as we get geared up to take over Ohio Dreams Action Sports Camp for the Finals on April 8, 2017.  This day is significant to me as it will be my 43 birthday, and I couldn’t imagine spending it with anyone else other than BMX Family!  This year has been nothing short of amazing riding by the over 140 entrants.  The Series Battle in all 3 of the points paying classes is up for grabs as we have some tight ones, keeping in mind that the winners from these 3 classes will receive a free week of Camp compliments of the fine folks over at Ohio Dreams!

Doors Open at 10:00am

10am – 1pm – Open Practice

1:30 – Beginner Heats

2:30 – Intermediate Heats

3:30 – Pro/Open Class Heats

5pm – Finals Start (All Classes)

Award presentations directly after finals for all classes

Pro Open Class Pay Out = 100% – 1st 50% – 2nd 30% – 3rd 20%

 Entry Fee: All Classes $20

The Battle for Midwest BMX and The 4th Annual Kitchen Pro/Am+Girls Classes are in one weeks time!  The 1st two stops have been amazing thus far in the battle for amateur supremacy.  The Kitchen BMX & Skatepark in South Bend is a very special to me personally as it is my favorite BMX Riders very own park.  I am talking about Brett Banasiewicz, the man, the myth the kid who killed contests all over this fine planet of ours year after year.

January 10, 2015 – Rays MTB Cleveland, OH -AM Contest “Rookie of the Year”  from 3-6pm with Pro/ Open bringing back the (KOR) KING OF RHYTHM in the Rhythm Room 6-9pm $30 Pro Open Entry – Cash Payout
February 14, 2015 – The Fort Wayne, Indoor, Fort Wayne IN – AM classes Only – Park Opens at 10:30am – Contest Starts at 1pm
March 21/22, 2015 – The Kitchen BMX & Skatepark – Pro/AM  South Bend, Indiana – AM , GIRLS, PRO/OPEN -Times TBA
